| Hey, who doesn't like that spiffy glowing text effect? It's simple to do. So simple that Photoshop made it an "Effect" on the Layer Menu (Outer Glow...). But that effect gives you limited control and doesn't let you understand exactly what's going on. I'll change all that. | Start with a new 400x400 image with a white background for this tutorial. Grab your text tool and make your text ( I used the "impact" font with a size of 400 and a RGB of 82, 52,0). Once you have your text done go to Layer/Type/Render Layer to render your text. Name this layer base.

| Start out by making a new 400x400 image on a white background. Using the type tool create your type (use black for your color for this tutorial). For this tutorial I used a Times New Roman font at 180 pt. size and crisp anti-aliasing.

| Start with a new 400x400 image. Choose a background that you want to make the rusty text on. For this tutorial I just used the action for rust that came standard with photoshop. If you don't see it in your actions look in your goodies folder in your photoshop directory. Once you have your background use the type tool and create your text. The color of the text does not matter, just make sure it is visible. Also make sure your text is where you want it to appear in your graphic. So move it to where it needs to be
