 Chromeless Pop-Up Window  By kirupa

Rate It  | Review
If you happen to browse design sites, you are bound to see many javascript pop-up windows that display a page in a smaller, less buttoned version of your browser. A modification of the pop-up window is the Chromeless window. Unlike a regular pop-up where you still see the browser window's title bar, a Chromeless window takes out all of the extraneous details that your OS/browser leaves on, and it gives you more freedom to customize the appearance of your window.

 Mouse Trail  By kirupa

Rate It  | Review
You've probably seen this effect all over the internet. It's actually nothing too hard. In this tutorial I'm going to explain you how to make the mouse trail with only actionscript! Yes, that's right, only actionscript, absolutely no graphics are used in this tutorial so there's nothing too complicated. They way I explain it can only be done with Flash MX so if you're using Flash 5 this tutorial is no good for you!

In my spare time, I often browse through the threads located in the "best of" forum in the kirupaForum. An interesting effect that I discovered during my random scavenger hunts was a vibration effect posted by suprabeener.

Creating a Volume Control Slider  By kirupa

Rate It  | Review
While a simple sound 'on' or sound 'off' button is acceptable, a volume slider is even better! A volume slider is a small bar that you can drag to increase or decrease the volume of any sound. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create just that.

Easing on Mouse Click  By kirupa

Rate It  | Review
This is the second edition of tutorials on easing, if you missed the first one, it can be found HERE. This tutorial will teach you the basics of easing by moving an object to where the mouse was clicked on the stage. Other than being an important part of AS motion, it just looks cool. You can download the partial .fla file HERE, the partial .fla file does not contain any actions or key elements that make the effect work.

Rate It  | Review
As I was browsing through the forums, I noticed a really nice flash footer created by the moderator lostinbeta. In his footer, he has pictures of grass moving in response to the mouse. In short, the footer was cool and I wanted to create something like it! After a few hours of tinkering with Flash, I created something completely different (and CPU-intensive) that somehow ended up involving grass:
