In SWiSH MAX and Flash MX, the variables always have a path, where
they are defined/creaetd. And they visible (by other scripts in movie)
in that path by default.
For example if we define a variable as x=15; on first
frame of the movie (in main timeline), all the scripts (either on frames
or even buttons' action), will be using variable 'x' directly.

This is a simple tip, enjoy
Did you know, in swishmax you don't just have to use the properties to set the length/duration of the effects, you can drag it on the timeline to the amount of frames you'd like and then add your effect.

actually this is not new, i think, but just a logic follow up on loading external text.
instead of reffering every dynamic textbox to a seperate txtfile, it's easy to do al this with one textfile

Did you ever want to draw vector grafics and very fast, but just didn't know how? Well I have a solution for you. Using only the pencil tool in SwishMax you can draw the outline of a character of an object and then play with colours.
Try this. Import an image you want to vectorize in swishMax. Now rezise that image to 1000%. Using the pencil tool, draw carefully the margins of the object. After finished tracing that image, select all the shapes, group them into one group (or sprite) and resize to 10% or smaller. You have the result of a very nice trace, like in the image below (remeber this is for newbies to try to get accomodate with vector drawing and pencil drawing)

Well now you all know how you can load an external text file in a dynamic text box, I want to go a little bit further in this matter.
For the simplicity I don't use an external txt file but I've assigned a value to the variable at the main timeline

Here is a example on how to make a movie play, ONLY when the mouse is moved across the X coordiant.
This is achieved by placing a "stop();" function on every frame in the sprite that you want to apply this to. In my case, I used 50 pictures of me attempting to dance... =/ lol
