 Layer Masks  By Force

Rate It  | Review
This tutorial will show you how to use the layer mask feature of photoshop to blend different images. I have made a 400x400px canvas and added a few random 'spawn' pictures onto it. I also made the background black. Here is how they look-

 Abstract Background  By Force

Ok this tut is a simple one. It will introduce you to the use of blend modes and filters.... so open up photoshop and get going 1. Open a new canvas (ctrl+N). For this tut I am going to use width-400(px) and height-400(px) with resolution 72(pixels/inch). Make sure u set the mode to RGB Color. I am setting the contents to 'white'. 2. Make a new layer (shift+ctrl+N). Get the Paint Bucket Tool(G). Sometimes the gradient tool comes up so cimply right click it and select the paintbucket tool.

Saving Layer Styles for others  By Force

Rate It  | Review
Ever tried doing a tutorial for a special text effect that has had loads of images of blending option settings? Ever found it annoying, confusing and time consuming? Well I for one have, and that's why all the text effects at apdz.com have layer styles included in them. Unfortunately not everyone knows how to use them or make them so that's what this little guide is here for

 Cool, Glossy Text  By Force

I was fooling around with layer styles and I got this interesting text. When all of the other settings are done, you just have to set a color overlay to customize. Check it out! First off, open a the PS document you'll be putting this text on. I'm using CS2 for this, but i'm sure you can do it on PS 7+.

 Patterns  By Force

Rate It  | Review
Well.... I know there are tutorials out there that show how to define patterns and stuff but I wanted to make this tutorial and keep it as a reference to make the different patterns since I often forget sizes and things like that... So anyway.. think of this as a reference for making patterns. I'll be updating this every now and then and if you have some patterns and would like to add them here just pm me

 Photo Merging  By Force

Rate It  | Review
This is another simple tutorial that shows you how you can use photoshops "Photomerge" function to merge together panoramic photographs easily. Some times people spend time dragging images onto a big canvas and try merging with another image manually and the whole thing becomes one ugly mess. Photoshop does all the hard work. I am using these 3 pictures which I took while on holiday -

 3 stroked text  By Force

Rate It  | Review
Ok for this tutorial I am using a font called Jungle LIFE. Search www.dafont.com for it if you want to follow this tutorial exactly though any graffiti type font (or any font at all) will work. Also in this tutorial I am going to include the text styles used so you can apply them easier and learn from them. I don't want this to be a bording tutorial where you have to enter values into the bleding options so simple load up the styles and apply them where I tell you to. Then experiment with them. Change the values and colors and learn from them

 Displacement Filter  By Force

Rate It  | Review
Ever wondered what the displacement filter in photoshop did? Well I did Most filters directly affect the document at hand... but the displacement filter is slightly different. It is used to apply texture to whatever layer you use the filter. This can be very handy for blending in images. So anyways... the best way to explain the filter is by showing you the results and how to use it... so here I go Open a image into photoshop. I am using this one
