Using Multi/Sub-Object Materials in 3DS Max 6 Multi/Sub-Object Materials are quite commonly used whilst modelling with polys, but alot of beginners to 3DS Max aren't aware of how to do this. I'm not sure about poly modelling with charachters, but whenever i model an interior in Max, i always use Multi/Sub-Object Material/s for the reason that it is quicker and more organised than having to detach every face and apply a material seperately.
